Dominick Di Lorenzo     Artist Biography                                                                                                                         Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947, my family later moved to Sayville, a town on Long Island. Graduation in 1966 brought major changes --- I was drafted into the Army and served Vietnam. After returning home, I enrolled at Farmingdale University to study Advertising Art and Design.                                                                           I went on to work in Manhattan's advertising and design industry, creating textbook illustrations, wallpaper design, and, silkscreen printing. After a decade in the field and seeking a change, I return to college to become an art teacter, a role I enbraced full-time until my retirement in 2002.                                                                              Now living on the east end of Long Island with my wife, artist Laura Westlake, I'm able to paint and sculpt full-time. I'm fortunate to exhibit and sell my work throughout Long Lsland. Our quiet town of Orient, New York , has become a place of peace and creative inspiration. As someone once said, ''Where you are is where you are supposed to be.''
